While much of Europe is in the grip of freezing weather, the Costa del Sol at Christmas time is a haven of benign temperatures and often sunny days. This spring-like weather is the elixir that many seek as they look to escape from northern cold and darkness.
Many restaurants, hotels and clubs in and around Marbella offer special Christmas dinners in December and of course on the day itself. Try some of the hotels for excellent Christmas fare with an international flavour, or sample the delights of fresh seafood at a local fish restaurant like our favourite La Perla Blanca in Elviria.
We are free to continue our outdoor life, and for many activities this is the perfect time of year. You might like to work off that Christmas dinner with a Boxing Day horse ride in Periana. Perhaps a festive round of golf at the Santa Maria Golf and Country Club might be in order? As always reasonable rates and a course in fantastic condition offering a decent challenge to all golfers. Or a simple stroll on the beach with the family? Much more Family Fun can be found on this great website.
This year the team at Residencia Estates will be getting on our bikes in the search for festive entertainment. A tour around the important sites of Málaga on bike-back with Málaga Bike Tours will be followed by lunch on the beach in Pedregalejo at a restaurant we have never tried before. Report no doubt will follow!
Being a culturally mixed society the festivals run from the beginning of December, and end with the arrival of the Kings (Reyes) on the 6th of January, traditionally when the local children get their presents.
Owning a property on the Costa del Sol means you can enjoy this fabulous climate and community whenever you wish. Come and give it a try.
