Marbella East is a highly desirable area thanks to its extensive green zones, its long sandy beaches and the fact that it has not been over developed. It includes a number of low-density residential areas with prime real estate, including: Cabopino, Elviria, Los Monteros, Las Chapas, Marbesa, El Rosario and Río Real. Cork oaks and pine trees provide the greenery, alongside the golf courses, and if you include La Mairena, which sits atop a hill above Elviria, you also have mountain vistas, wildlife and a retreat from the world that is only five kilometres from the coast. We’ve put together five compelling reasons to live here that will hopefully inspire you to explore the area.
- Location
Even at the most easterly end of this area, you are only 10-15 minutes drive from Marbella town and a 25-minute drive from Málaga airport. Shoppers can choose from either La Cañada mall in Marbella or the Miramar mall in Fuengirola. Marbella East is also superbly situated for a wide variety of leisure and sports activities, as well as for restaurant choice, while families with young people of all ages will find that they are also very well catered for. There are several private international schools within easy travelling distance, such as the English International College and the German School, plus the main general hospital for the Costa del Sol is located here.
Golf
Marbella East is home to some beautiful golf courses, including those at Río Real, Santa María, Marbella, Santa Clara and Cabopino. The courses vary in their challenges, but each one offers quality golfing and clubhouses for socialising.
- Sports and Leisure activities
Elviria has a large sports centre with multi-purpose pitch and tennis fans have a choice of the PSM Academy Marbella and the Hoffsäss Academy in La Mairena. Young people and adults alike will love Aventura Amazonia in Elviria, and Funny Beach near Río Real is another great spot to keep youngsters entertained. Boating and water sports are also available from the beaches or Cabopino marina.
- Lunch & Dining
Residents of Marbella East are spoilt for choice. There is El Lago, a Michelin-starred restaurant in the Elviria hills. The Beach House, La Cabane at Los Monteros Hotel and Rosmarino in Elviria are just a few of the exciting range of restaurants here. There are also some wonderful beach chiringuito beach bars and if you want to spot a celebrity, Nikki Beach and the adjacent Don Carlos Hotel are both good places to spend time at. Our personal favourite’s are La Perla Blanca, Siroko Beach and Trocadero Arena.
